See thousands of real live Honey Bees in their special hive, and Britain’s smallest rodent, the Harvest Mouse.  Look up close at the wings of insects using our video-microscope and discover what a Moles fur feels like. Listen to the calls that some animals make at night.

Our bees
The bees have been removed to allow some essential maintenance work to take place over the summer. The bees will be back as soon as we can return them safely.

Discover how to find, identify and record your local wildlife by taking part in our wildlife survey. Find out more about some of the special animals, like Bats, Stag Beetles and House Sparrows, that live under our noses in our capital city.

There are lots more things to see, hear and do in Nature Base.

Remember: be gentle and respectful when you handle museum objects as well as when you are exploring wildlife outside.
